Survival Origin Solutions (SOS) was founded in 2023 with a clear vision: to share our cumulative research and survival expertise in a comprehensive resource accessible to everyone worldwide.
Though formally established in 2023, the seed for our flagship publication, Beyond the Fall, was planted in 2020 during the global shift following the COVID-19 pandemic.
When global travel and conventional business halted abruptly, it profoundly altered our perspective. Witnessing firsthand how fragile modern systems could be, we began exploring and researching alternative living methods and self-reliance strategies.
Our journeys took us across multiple continents and every imaginable climate, allowing us to gain authentic, first-hand experiences on managing resources, adjusting to harsh environments, and thriving independently from centralized systems.
Learning from Global Traditions of Self-Sufficiency
Inspired by resilient, largely self-sustaining cultures such as the Senegalese, the Himba of Namibia, and indigenous groups from around the globe, we deepened our understanding of primitive living practices. These societies, which have flourished independently for centuries without dependence on government, utilities, or commercial food supply chains, served as powerful examples and mentors in our research. As our exploration evolved from mere curiosity into a passionate endeavor, we documented extensive practical strategies for off-grid living and sustainable resource management. We recognized parallels with intentional communities emerging globally, small groups committed to building self-sufficient lifestyles away from conventional societal structures, embracing freedom, community, and autonomy.
Encouraged by the enthusiastic responses from family, friends, and numerous conversations with like-minded individuals, we decided to transform our passion into a public resource. Initially hesitant about public reception and logistical feasibility, we meticulously interviewed dozens of global vendors across North and South America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Oceania to find the perfect partners capable of producing a visually engaging yet content-rich survival guide.
Building a Global Network of Survival Experts
We built an expansive network, reconnecting with experts and specialists in fields including medicine, psychology, gardening, hunting, and survival, many recognized as masters of their crafts with over 20 years of experience. Graphic designers, illustrators, and individuals already living off-grid joined our dedicated team to shape this groundbreaking project.
Launched successfully on Kickstarter, Beyond the Fall surpassed expectations, evolving into a meticulously developed, field-tested, and expertly crafted survival resource. Now finalized and expanded beyond our initial vision, the guide comprises over 850 pages packed with actionable, real-world knowledge. Recognizing the diverse needs of our audience, we’ve also created a compact, affordable, and portable edition suitable for shorter excursions and everyday use. Additionally, innovative products such as survival-focused playing cards blend practical tips with engaging gameplay, making vital knowledge accessible and enjoyable.
